AMT instructors are exceptionally qualified to conduct financial education programs. They have years of instructional experience, have been awarded advanced degrees and have earned respected financial certifications. Furthermore, all instructors have professional experience in their areas of expertise—accordingly, they have the ability to bring “real-world” experiences into the classroom.
AMT education materials and learning tools are carefully developed to ensure participants quickly understand the presented concepts and can apply them in their areas of responsibility after the program. Some programs utilize business simulation models that bring case studies to a new level of inter-activity for participants—and allow them to simulate the effects of post-program decisions.
AMT’s customized programs are designed, developed and presented to reflect the financial and operating issues relevant to your business. When financial concepts are presented in the context of your business’ goals, operations, organizational structure and competitive market, participants will more effectively apply these concepts in your business after the program.
On-Site Attorney Professional Development Program: Finance and Accounting Courses
Attorneys assisting clients with business matters need an effective understanding of finance and accounting. Whether they facilitate a corporate transaction, litigate damages or assist in other commercial matters, the chances of success are enhanced exponentially when the attorney speaks the “language of business” and understands the essential financial concepts.
AMT has designed and developed on-site finance and accounting CLE programs specific to the legal profession. Ranging from basic topics such as reading finance statements to more sophisticated subjects such as business valuations, these programs are ideally suited for attorneys with limited finance and accounting experience—as well as lawyers who work with accountants, bankers and financial analysts on a routine basis.
Courses currently available include:
1. Everything You Wanted to Know About Accounting & Finance but…
2. The Story…as Told by the Financial Statements
3. The Basics of Business Valuations
4. The Financial “DOs and DON’Ts” of Damage Calculations
5. The “WHATs, WHYs and HOWs” of Business Bankruptcy – A Financial Perspective
Our CLE program uses financial statements of publicly-traded companies and case studies to illustrate various key finance and accounting concepts. Additionally, a course book is provided for each course. With some courses, laminated quick-reference sheets are provided.
Since these curricula are conducted at your law firm, AMT can hand-tailor many of the courses by supplementing or replacing the pre-packaged case study or financial statement with one that is relevant to a past (or current) engagement at your firm. Furthermore, these on-site courses provide a practice development opportunity when the attorneys of prospective and existing clients are invited.
Please contact us regarding each course’s MCLE status in your state.
